How does the editing process work?
Quotes:
Once we receive your query via our email address (y.s.editors@gmail.com), we would ideally like to see your text to ascertain whether it needs editing or proofreading. We then prepare a provisional quote with the estimated fee and date of completion. When you submit your final text to us, we will prepare another quote based on your final word-count before we proceed with the work. Have a look at our rates.
Bookings:
We will book you a place on our schedule, however, we can get very busy at certain times of the year so it is important to communicate with us if you have difficulties meeting your submission deadline. We usually return all work within two weeks from the date that you submitted it to us, however a PhD thesis will take us three weeks (depending on the word count).
Software and method of editing:
We use both MS Word and WordPerfect, and we track our changes rather than making changes to your text without your consent. You can accept or reject our suggestions without fear of your text being altered without your consent. If the document is very large we transfer the files using Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer.
Language and referencing style:
We respect and defer to the editing guidelines stipulated by your university or college, or your academic supervisor(s). Please email us a copy of your institution’s language and referencing style guide when you submit your final text.
